About
Akagera runs along the Tanzanian border through papyrus swamp, lakes and rolling savanna. Lion were reintroduced in 2015 and rhino in 2017, making it a Big Five park again after decades, and the lake circuit in the south — boat trips past hippo and shoebill country — is as much of a draw as the game drives.
