About
Amboseli is where the classic photograph of elephants beneath a snow-capped Kilimanjaro is taken — the mountain sits across the border in Tanzania but fills the southern horizon. The park's swamps, fed by meltwater, keep herds close and visible through the dry season, and Amboseli's elephant population is among the most studied in the world, with several bulls still carrying tusks of a size now rare in Africa.
