About
The Great Pyramid was built for Khufu around 2560 BC and stood as the tallest structure on earth for nearly four thousand years. Three pyramids, the Sphinx and a field of smaller tombs sit on a desert plateau that the suburbs of Giza now reach right up to — the contrast is part of the experience. The Grand Egyptian Museum, alongside the plateau, holds the complete Tutankhamun collection.
