Kibira National Park
Montane rainforest along the Congo-Nile divide, with chimpanzees in the canopy.
About
Kibira runs along the ridge of the Congo-Nile watershed and is contiguous with Rwanda's Nyungwe, protecting the same old montane rainforest — chimpanzee, black-and-white colobus, and a long list of Albertine Rift endemic birds. Trails start from tea estates on the park edge and climb into permanently damp forest.
