Kruger National Park
Africa's most accessible Big Five park — and one of its largest.
About
Kruger runs for 350 kilometres along South Africa's border with Mozambique, and it is the park that made self-drive safari normal: tarred roads, rest camps you can book online, and the Big Five all present in numbers. It holds nearly 150 mammal species and over 500 birds. Private reserves along the unfenced western boundary, such as Sabi Sand, offer off-road guiding and the continent's most reliable leopard sightings.
Highlights
- Self-drive game viewing
- Big Five in one park
