Seychelles

Granite boulders, shallow turquoise water and the beaches everyone pictures.

About

The inner Seychelles are granitic islands — unusual for mid-ocean — which is why their beaches are punctuated by the huge weathered boulders that make Anse Source d'Argent on La Digue among the most photographed shorelines on earth. Praslin's Vallée de Mai grows the coco de mer palm, found nowhere else, and Aldabra atoll to the south holds the world's largest population of giant tortoises.
