W National Park
A three-country savanna reserve on a bend of the Niger river.
About
W takes its name from the meander the Niger river makes here, and the park spreads across Niger, Benin and Burkina Faso as one transboundary reserve — one of the last strongholds of West African elephant, buffalo, roan and the region's remaining lion. The Niger side is the original park, gazetted in 1954, with tracks through gallery forest and open savanna.
