About
Waza sits on the edge of the Lake Chad basin, where acacia woodland gives way to seasonally flooded grassland. It is Cameroon's best-known park for elephant, giraffe, kob and waterbirds that mass on the drying pans, and it carries the weight of the country's wildlife reputation despite the pressures on the wider region.

Where to stay in Waza National Park
Zuri has nothing to list here. Waza's old park camp does not appear to be operating, and Cameroon's Far North region is under do-not-travel advisories because of Boko Haram activity, so there is no dependable place to sleep at the park and no established way to visit independently. Anyone set on going should work through a Cameroonian operator who can confirm the current security position and arrange escorts.
